The audience thought a goal was coming when Raoul Lambert got free with Rolf Pihlgren in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brutal DeLuxe reached it. 87 minutes into the match, Brutal DeLuxe's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Louis Rijniers came free, but Rolf Pihlgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jimmie Vibjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 96 played minutes Brutal DeLuxe got a freekick which was hit by Christian Andreasson. Brugge United played a much better game than Brutal DeLuxe and deserved their victory. The Brutal DeLuxe players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
