The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Radowit Hetman kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santos Felipillo in the 3rd minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knudsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute, Abdi Malkoçoğlu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenneth Knudsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celestino Bazkoare, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. If Carmine Caligaris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tobias Faro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Radowit Hetman in the 13th minute. Kenneth Knudsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Bieito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Social y Dep. Patagonia were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after AEK FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kazimierz Oliszewski took the corner. Apolo Enaut sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AEK FC's Kenneth Knudsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Laurgain in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute Social y Dep. Patagonia were awarded a corner. Kazimierz Oliszewski went to the cornerflag to take it. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Kazimierz Oliszewski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Kenneth Knudsen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tore Strømsnes kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Kenneth Knudsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santos Felipillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Patagonia booed when AEK FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Espen Heltne didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Severo Laurgain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kenneth Knudsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Laurgain in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Radowit Hetman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. AEK FC's Kenneth Knudsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Laurgain in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute Severo Laurgain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenneth Knudsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the AEK FC defense, Severo Laurgain kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenneth Knudsen. The AEK FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenneth Knudsen should have stopped the shot. Tobias Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Endre Bjørheim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Severo Laurgain got free with Kenneth Knudsen in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kazimierz Oliszewski hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Social y Dep. Patagonia's Natalio Mergildo was substituted for Severo Laurgain. Natalio Mergildo struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Kenneth Knudsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Social y Dep. In the 84thth minute of the game Natalio Mergildo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AEK FC's Kenneth Knudsen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the match, AEK FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knudsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Natalio Mergildo. 88 minutes into the match, Social y Dep. Patagonia's Natalio Mergildo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kenneth Knudsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Natalio Mergildo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kenneth Knudsen. AEK FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Natalio Mergildo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 94th minute, Robustiano Elorri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Social y Dep. Patagonia left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AEK FC.
