In the 14th minute of the match São Paulo da Floresta got a corner. Cats and dogs's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bem Bom ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of São Paulo da Floresta booed when Cats and dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Louineau didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Paulo Linhares in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Maxime Péron saved Cats and dogs from getting behind. After having played for 23 minutes, Luís Paulo Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. São Paulo da Floresta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Paulo Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Cats and dogs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maxime Péron should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, São Paulo da Floresta's Teodoro Jacinto got control of the ball when Gaétan Bouchard tried to sneak it across the goal line.
