The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Van Hoyveldt during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Twierdza Osowiec getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Jorge Van Hoyveldt hit a great ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aloísio Zanette in the 6th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Twierdza Osowiec's goalie and right to Dorival Brodel. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Twierdza Osowiec's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Emílio Veiga made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Lauren Berckmans sent off a good shot on target. Faustino Cordaryal hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Lauren Berckmans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Emílio Veiga made a huge save. 25 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Emílio Veiga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lauren Berckmans. Lauren Berckmans received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emílio Veiga came out and tried to block the shot, but Lauren Berckmans slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute Geordy Maerschalcx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Twierdza Osowiec's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Campidelis came free, but Waut Vanden Berghe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emílio Veiga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnout Van der Goten in the 35th minute of the match. Hélio Pimenta kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Ooms in the 37th minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Emílio Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Waut Vanden Berghe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Dionísio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Emílio Veiga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ooms in the 44th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 52 played minutes Twierdza Osowiec got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Ooms. The supporters of Nova Iguaçu MZFC booed when Twierdza Osowiec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Ooms didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Twierdza Osowiec's Faustino Cordaryal got a free kick in the 57th minute. Emílio Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauren Berckmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 66 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Ooms came free, but Emílio Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute Emanuel Ooms shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emílio Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lauren Berckmans in the 73rd minute of play forced Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Emílio Veiga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Dionísio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Waut Vanden Berghe made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Aloísio Zanette got a free kick in the 79th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Twierdza Osowiec's Geordy Maerschalcx broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some careless play in the Nova Iguaçu MZFC defense, Geordy Maerschalcx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emílio Veiga. The Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emílio Veiga should have stopped the shot. Reynaldo Dionísio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Waut Vanden Berghe skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kiko Trevisan's late challenge caught a Twierdza Osowiec's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kiko Trevisan helped the player get up and apologised. Kiko Trevisan hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Twierdza Osowiec could leave the field as winners, despite Nova Iguaçu MZFC having more of the ball for most of the match.
