Elpidio Francis started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Elpidio Francis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 17 minutes into the match, Consejo del Mate's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elpidio Francis. After 17 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Eber Melivilu. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Francis in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hugo Orlando Gatti saved Consejo del Mate from getting behind. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA defense, Peyo Fonelleda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Branislav Velchevski. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Branislav Velchevski should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Bonifacio Suarez got a free kick in the 25th minute. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peyo Fonelleda kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. The throw-in from Julio Kemen in the 34th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Bonifacio Suarez. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Elpidio Francis sent off a good shot on target. Fagildo Pamanes kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Consejo del Mate's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Miguel Prosperi took the corner. A very nice done corner allowed Rafael Dalmu to score against Hugo Orlando Gatti in Consejo del Mate's goal. 2-1 after 41 minutes. Miguel Prosperi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peyo Fonelleda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Branislav Velchevski having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peyo Fonelleda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Branislav Velchevski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peyo Fonelleda in the 51st minute of the match. Julio Kemen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Branislav Velchevski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peyo Fonelleda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hugo Orlando Gatti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elpidio Francis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hugo Orlando Gatti having to make a save. If Julio Kemen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Francis in the 81st minute of play forced Consejo del Mate's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peyo Fonelleda in the 84th minute of play. Bonifacio Suarez got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Roland Kolacki. Hugo Orlando Gatti stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elpidio Francis's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Consejo del Mate's Hugo Orlando Gatti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 94th minute of play. Consejo del Mate's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA had won, even though Consejo del Mate had held more of the ball.
