The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lilywhites's Modesto Oakley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qi Fei in the 37th minute of play. Modesto Oakley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl Bergkvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Qi Fei notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Lilywhites's Modesto Oakley. Modesto Oakley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Beppe Natalucci made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Alberigo Mauro sent off a good shot on target. Lilywhites's Fabiano Pellecchia was substituted for Alberigo Mauro. After a rather tough play, AZ Sidion Gravina's Natal Teruel got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The long shot by Ermanno Baratta in the 84th minute really tested Beppe Natalucci's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 86 minutes into the match, AZ Sidion Gravina's goalkeeper Beppe Natalucci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabiano Pellecchia. Beppe Natalucci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosimo Michelini in the 87th minute of the match. Beppe Natalucci took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosimo Michelini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Volkan Kural sped through AZ Sidion Gravina's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Beppe Natalucci. The Lilywhites supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lilywhites would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
