Spectators: 197 (Terracing: 149, Seating: 45, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Reese Johnson started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Adelaide's zone, Garth Brough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Brennand came out of the goal and Garth Brough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Garth Brough in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brian Brennand saved Adelaide from getting behind. Brian Brennand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garth Brough's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. 6 minutes into the match, Adelaide's goalkeeper Brian Brennand had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Garth Brough. Ellis Hoskin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Brennand having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Hickman in the 10th minute of play forced Australian Youth Academy's goalkeeper Keylor Navas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Garth Brough might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brian Brennand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Garth Brough ran back to his position shaking his head. 11 minutes into the match, Adelaide's goal looked a bit too open when Garth Brough came free, but Brian Brennand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th match minute, Adelaide was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Fasey to maneuver through the defense. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brian Brennand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Garth Brough in the 13th minute. Brian Brennand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Garth Brough's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Garth Brough got free with Brian Brennand in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Brian Brennand managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The corner led Australian Youth Academy's Cesar Cornelius to fire away a dangerous shot which Brian Brennand despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Samuel Fasey during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Samuel Fasey kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. 38 minutes into the match, Adelaide's goalkeeper Brian Brennand had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Garth Brough. In the 40th minute, Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Brian Brennand. Brian Brennand yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Brian Brennand made an important save on a dangerous shot by Garth Brough in the 45th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Garth Brough made the kick off in the second half. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brian Brennand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Brough in the 51st minute of play. Garth Brough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Adelaide's Brian Brennand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garth Brough in the 55th minute of play. Brian Brennand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Martini in the 59th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Gabriel Martini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brian Brennand was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Garth Brough sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Brian Brennand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Brough in the 63rd minute of play. Brian Brennand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garth Brough in the 65th minute of the match. If Garth Brough had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brian Brennand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Garth Brough, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 79th match minute, Australian Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Baba to maneuver through the defense. When Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Adelaide's goalie prevented a goal. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Adelaide's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cesar Cornelius was slow to take the kick. During this time Australian Youth Academy's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Australian Youth Academy's Cesar Cornelius to fire away a dangerous shot which Brian Brennand despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Brian Brennand came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Australian Youth Academy's Garth Brough. But to his dismay, Garth Brough quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Garth Brough took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brian Brennand. Brian Brennand dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Adelaide players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Australian Youth Academy.
