When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Aírton Faria sped through Sipo EC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carroll Hathaway. Claudinho Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oséias Gerber, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Sipo EC's Noel Velloso got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cambotinha EC's Claudinho Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséias Gerber in the 14th minute of play. Claudinho Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséias Gerber in the 23rd minute of the match. Claudinho Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Velloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Arósio in the 31st minute of play forced Cambotinha EC's goalkeeper Claudinho Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Américo Marinho kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Valdir Arósio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Claudinho Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Aírton Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Carroll Hathaway made a huge save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aírton Faria made a kick off. Carroll Hathaway made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aírton Faria in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd match minute, Cambotinha EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Douglas Paulista to maneuver through the defense. Filip Bykowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Claudinho Azevedo made a huge save. Claudinho Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Filip Bykowski's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Sipo EC's Silvano Mohamed was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Claudinho Azevedo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Dráusio Costa fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sipo EC's protests and gave Dráusio Costa a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Sipo EC got a freekick which was hit by Dráusio Costa. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Albert Hidegkúti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sipo EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albert Hidegkúti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudinho Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Sipo EC's Carlos Alberto Passos got a free kick in the 65th minute. After a rather tough play, Sipo EC's Américo Marinho got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
