Karl-Erik Norström made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Christopher Kock sent off a good shot on target. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Skövde AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Yaser Pakel was slow to take the kick. During this time JKs Talanger's players had a chance to rest. In the 9th minute Chen Ao Fan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Wallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kevin Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Octavian Basten in the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, JKs Talanger's Christopher Kock sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl-Erik Norström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Walter Wallander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christopher Kock to make the kick off.
