Lorenzo Acutain ran back to his position shaking his head. Sebastian Hellkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svend Betz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute, Karl-Åke Kvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evelio Matetich made in the 15th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Svend Betz however managed to control. 19 minutes into the game, Celso Inguma threw the ball into play from the sideline. FSX UNITED's Mircea Popilean quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Jörn Svartengren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zebastian Spets received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Sebastian Hellkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Sebastian Hellkvist got control of the ball when Svend Betz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Inter de Guayaquil FC's zone, Svend Betz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After having played for 43 minutes, Jörn Svartengren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörn Svartengren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Svend Betz came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sebastian Hellkvist could save by the left post. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jörn Svartengren made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörn Svartengren got free with Ye Wei in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Inter de Guayaquil FC made a substitution. Humberto Barragan replaced Zé Pedro Baptista. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Saffet Ataergin quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Disvandis Advis, made in the 80th minute of the game. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Humberto Barragan hit a great ball. 83 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Amancio Baesler came free, but Sebastian Hellkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Inter de Guayaquil FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Karl-Åke Kvist was slow to take the kick. During this time FSX UNITED's players had a chance to rest. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Inter de Guayaquil FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
