In the 5th minute of the match Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG got a corner. Breguete FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's Percival Munhoz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG from getting a goal against them. Artur Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breno Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's Percival Munhoz got control of the ball when Roderick van Boxel tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Tasso in the 22nd minute of play forced Breguete FC's goalkeeper Artur Pernambucano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Breguete FC's Artur Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Tasso in the 23rd minute of play. Artur Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breno Tasso in the 25th minute of the match. Percival Munhoz was a little too slow when Eugênio de Carvalho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 29th minute. The score was now 1-0. Artur Pernambucano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Brasil in the 33rd minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Salles to maneuver through the defense. Percival Munhoz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Paulista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Faustão Trigo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. When Roderick van Boxel came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Breguete FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roderick van Boxel couldn't finish the play. After 48 played minutes, Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's Faustão Trigo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Artur Pernambucano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG reached it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugênio de Carvalho to make the kick off. Percival Munhoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Attila Iványi, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Artur Pernambucano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Breno Tasso was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 65th minute. Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 69th minute, Roderick van Boxel made a precise shot to the right of Percival Munhoz. Grajaú Uai Sôccer MG's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Breno Tassos short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Artur Pernambucano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Roderick van Boxel scored 3-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Percival Munhoz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
