Saturnino Curcio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Isusko having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Matias Bilintx got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Caspalá FC's Domingos Isusko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Maradona in the 8th minute of play. Esteban Ekaitz might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domingos Isusko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Esteban Ekaitz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 15th minute of the match, Saturnino Curcio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Domingos Isusko was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 19th minute Matias Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Isusko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 played minutes Caspalá FC got a freekick which was hit by Eriberto Blasco. Saturnino Curcio might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Domingos Isusko. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saturnino Curcio ran back to his position shaking his head. Jose Orlondo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Sporting de Gijón's Saturnino Curcio shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 23rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Domingos Isusko but with some difficulty. In the 25th minute Victor Raebert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saturnino Curcio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Domingos Isusko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anastasio Perfecto in the 29th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Mateo Abajas came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingos Isusko made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Rune Fanström sent off a good shot on target. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anastasio Perfecto to make the kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Diego Maradona notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Caspalá FC's Domingos Isusko. Domingos Isusko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cosme Cisco kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Cosme Cisco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sporting de Gijón's Saturnino Curcio couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 57th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Caspalá FC. Domingos Isusko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matias Bilintx in the 59th minute of the match. If Matias Bilintx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the match, Matias Bilintx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Domingos Isusko. Caspalá FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matias Bilintx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After having played for 67 minutes, Matias Bilintx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting de Gijón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Bilintx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sporting de Gijón's Mario Zanabria was substituted for Saturnino Curcio. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Matias Bilintx put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Domingos Isusko. After 76 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Venancio Emesto. Sporting de Gijón's Atilano Feo was substituted for Carlo Crema. In the 81st minute Venancio Emesto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Domingos Isusko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingos Isusko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matias Bilintx's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Venancio Emesto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting de Gijón's supporters rose to their feet, but Venancio Emesto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Domingos Isusko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute, Diego Maradona made a precise shot to the right of Domingos Isusko. Caspalá FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Domingos Isusko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matias Bilintx's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Rune Fanström hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Caspalá FC's Domingos Isusko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matias Bilintx in the 94th minute of play. There was no doubt that Sporting de Gijón were the better team. Sporting de Gijón's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
