With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adrian Isbășoiu in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nichifor Nicolae saved Emerald from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Piţurcă in the 12th minute of play forced FC MCM's goalkeeper Călin Prunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nichifor Nicolae was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Viktor Axelsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. After 17th play minutes Viktor Axelsson shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Nichifor Nicolae and just under the crossbar into goal. Nichifor Nicolae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Paul Moscatelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, FC MCM's Viktor Axelsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nichifor Nicolae narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emerald's Nichifor Nicolae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Isbășoiu in the 29th minute of play. Nichifor Nicolae stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Viktor Axelsson's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. If Victor Piţurcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Piţurcă in the 33rd minute of play forced FC MCM's goalkeeper Călin Prunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emerald's Nichifor Nicolae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viktor Axelsson in the 36th minute of play. Călin Prunaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Piţurcă, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Victor Piţurcă sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 41st minute Victor Piţurcă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Călin Prunaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 43 minutes, Victor Piţurcă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Emerald's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victor Piţurcă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 45 played minutes Emerald got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinand Condrea. Nichifor Nicolae was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cristi Maniu. The supporters of Emerald booed when FC MCM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Irureta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viktor Axelsson to make the kick off. Călin Prunaru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Piţurcă went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After 56 minutes Emerald's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristi Maniu who took care of the corner kick. Ferdinand Condrea struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Călin Prunaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Emerald. FC MCM made a substitution. Cătălin Agulescu replaced Viktor Axelsson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Agulescu in the 66th minute of play forced Emerald's goalkeeper Nichifor Nicolae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Călin Prunaru made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Victor Piţurcă sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean Paul Moscatelli in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nichifor Nicolae prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nichifor Nicolae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cătălin Agulescu in the 77th minute of the match. FC MCM's Călin Prunaru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save FC MCM from getting a goal against them. 82 minutes into the match, FC MCM's Alfonso Irureta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nichifor Nicolae narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC MCM made a substitution. Vali Cârnu replaced Jean Paul Moscatelli. Ferdinand Condrea hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Victor Piţurcă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Călin Prunaru having to interfere. In the 91st minute Adrian Isbășoiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Nicolae saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Emerald's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Agulescu came free, but Nichifor Nicolae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
