The supporters of FK Crvena Zvezda booed when Menofta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Arne Lundqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FK Crvena Zvezda's Erland Hagström got a free kick in the 14th minute. Sven-Arne Lundqvist took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leif Browall. Leif Browall dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. A collision led to FK Crvena Zvezda getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Malcolm Göransson hit a great ball. Leif Browall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernt Ryberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Isak Hjälm's late challenge caught a Menofta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isak Hjälm helped the player get up and apologised. The long shot by Dennis Lundkvist in the 28th minute really tested Leif Browall's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Menofta's Bernt Ryberg got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Menofta's Bernt Ryberg got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leif Browall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Lundkvist in the 39th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Arne Lundqvist got free with Leif Browall in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by FK Crvena Zvezda's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dennis Lundkvist was slow to take the kick. During this time Menofta's players had a chance to rest. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Sven-Arne Lundqvist made the kick off in the second half. Bernt Ryberg hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Marcus Britz charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Britz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of FK Crvena Zvezda:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Menofta:s goal. Leif Browall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Arne Lundqvist in the 61st minute of the match. Leif Browall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olov Österberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Leif Browall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernt Ryberg in the 66th minute of play. FK Crvena Zvezda's Leif Browall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Arne Lundqvist in the 68th minute of play. After 70 played minutes Erland Hagström rounded Menofta's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. When Sven-Arne Lundqvist fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Menofta's protests and gave Sven-Arne Lundqvist a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th match minute, FK Crvena Zvezda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Göransson to maneuver through the defense. FK Crvena Zvezda's Leif Browall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Ryberg in the 80th minute of play. Leif Browall didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sven-Arne Lundqvist went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. FK Crvena Zvezda's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
