Martín Palermo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cecilio Jax read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Cecilio Jax made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Palermo in the 23rd minute of play. Ivan Copil did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Daniel Păvăloae 26 minutes into the match. Martín Palermo took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cecilio Jax. Cecilio Jax dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 40th match minute, San Martin de Tucuman was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jiang Jun Yang to maneuver through the defense. Haroldo Phelipe was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 46 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the game, one of Metal Juniors:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

The wind increased when Leopoldo Itzaina made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Ivan Copil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Daniel Păvăloae was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Păvăloae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Copil in the 59th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, San Martin de Tucuman's Ivan Copil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniel Păvăloae made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Cecilio Jax took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Itzaina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Păvăloae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Copil in the 71st minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Ivan Copil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daniel Păvăloae. Metal Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Copil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Metal Juniors's Gaspar Gerazan was substituted for Yani Abalos. Metal Juniors made a substitution. Sergio Dennis replaced Martín Palermo. In the 81stth minute of the game Ivan Copil who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Metal Juniors's Daniel Păvăloae was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Metal Juniors's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Paulino Lamberto was slow to take the kick. During this time San Martin de Tucuman's players had a chance to rest. After 87 played minutes Metal Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Timoteo Gorosti. San Martin de Tucuman made a substitution. Marcial Munio replaced Ivan Copil. After 88 played minutes Metal Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Timoteo Gorosti. 92 minutes into the match, Metal Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Marcial Munio came free, but Daniel Păvăloae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Păvăloae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcial Munio in the 96th minute of play. Metal Juniors's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
