In the 8th minute Martin Ilarie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Epure saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, F.C.BARLAD's Ferdinand Simionescu got a free kick in the 9th minute. A collision led to F.C.BARLAD getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Valentin Plopșor hit a great ball. The long shot by Teodor Dan in the 17th minute really tested Bogdan Gurgui's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 24th minute, Octav Cretan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Academia Rio's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Octav Cretan was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C.BARLAD's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Octav Cretan almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia Rio's Nechifor Epure did a great save. Ferdinand Simionescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Epure having to interfere. In the 38th minute Valentin Plopșor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Epure saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Ferdinand Simionescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nechifor Epure. Academia Rio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ferdinand Simionescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 45th minute Ioan Oltean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bogdan Gurgui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Academia Rio's Ioan Oltean nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bogdan Gurgui made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vali Ghelmegean was the one to do the kick off. If Ioan Oltean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Ilarie in the 53rd minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Nechifor Epure to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vali Ghelmegean in the 54th minute of play forced F.C.BARLAD's goalkeeper Bogdan Gurgui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th match minute, Academia Rio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Berceanu to maneuver through the defense. If Marian Aliuta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bogdan Floruțiu kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Nechifor Epure was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Martin Ilarie capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Martin Ilarie really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Vali Ghelmegean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nechifor Epure showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferdinand Simionescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Nechifor Epure made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ferdinand Simionescu in the 88th minute of play. In the 92nd minute Ferdinand Simionescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nechifor Epure saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nechifor Epure had great luck who in the 92ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Ferdinand Simionescu from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post.
