The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Caramarin during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 12 played minutes Club Atlético Timișoara got a freekick which was hit by Iurie Nediu. 20 minutes into the game, Luís Gustavo Teles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CE LAJEADENSE RS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético Timișoara the free kick. After 20 played minutes CE LAJEADENSE RS got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo Teles. Glauco Paranaense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Albert Bratiloveanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lauro Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Deliman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 minutes of play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Glauco Paranaense made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albert Bratiloveanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Club Atlético Timișoara's Costel Dima got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Club Atlético Timișoara booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute of the match Dinu Corlățean sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lauro Linhares skillfully saved the ball. Glauco Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albert Bratiloveanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valer Deliman made a kick off. The supporters of Club Atlético Timișoara booed when CE LAJEADENSE RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Glauco Paranaense got free with Albert Bratiloveanu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eliézer Ramos charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliézer Ramos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 64 minutes of play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Luís de Lara made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albert Bratiloveanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Glauco Paranaense in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Bratiloveanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard, long distance shot from Cléber de Souza flew over the goal. In the 94th minute of the match Iustin Buligan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lauro Linhares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. CE LAJEADENSE RS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
