Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Wilian Antunes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, MINEIROS's goal looked a bit too open when Wilian Antunes came free, but Serginho Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Jovens Democratas MZC's zone, Maicon Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marquinhos Diniz came out of the goal and Maicon Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chico de Toledo during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Célio de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maicon Quintal in the 11th minute of play. Serginho Taffarel came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Jovens Democratas MZC's Emanuel Branco. But to his dismay, Emanuel Branco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Serginho Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Branco in the 19th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, Naldo Baiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Chico de Toledo got a free kick in the 29th minute. Maicon Quintal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marquinhos Diniz came out and tried to block the shot, but Maicon Quintal slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 30th minute. Nico de Mendonça's late challenge caught a Jovens Democratas MZC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nico de Mendonça helped the player get up and apologised. Nico de Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Chico de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jovens Democratas MZC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico de Toledo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serginho Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marquinhos Diniz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nico de Mendonça went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
After having played for 51 minutes, Nico de Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MINEIROS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nico de Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 52ndth minute of the game Nico de Mendonça who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jovens Democratas MZC's Marquinhos Diniz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jovens Democratas MZC's Marquinhos Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nico de Mendonça in the 54th minute of play. Nico de Mendonça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Jovens Democratas MZC's Wilian Antunes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Serginho Taffarel. Serginho Taffarel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. In the 62nd match minute, MINEIROS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Naldo Baiano to maneuver through the defense. Wilian Antunes hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. MINEIROS's Ronaldinho Braga was substituted for Naldo Baiano. MINEIROS made a substitution. Vitinho Meirelles replaced Maicon Quintal. In the 69th minute, Wilian Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Benê Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, MINEIROS's Nilson de Souza got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the last second Serginho Taffarel throw himself and got hold of the ball when Wilian Antunes in the 77thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serginho Taffarel was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Célio de Sousa. In the 87th minute, William Guerreiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Célio de Sousa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 88th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Serginho Taffarel. MINEIROS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Aílton Sousa charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aílton Sousa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of MINEIROS booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aílton Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marquinhos Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vitinho Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute, Jovens Democratas MZC's Aílton Sousa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Jovens Democratas MZC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
