With an extended leg and a bit of luck Óscar Cordoba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Bilintx in the 20th minute of play forced VB-Team's goalkeeper Armindo Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22ndth minute of the game Matias Bilintx who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VB-Team's Armindo Salgado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gervásio Severiano scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Óscar Cordoba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Alejandro Rufo hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim de Barros came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Óscar Cordoba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Braga, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Óscar Cordoba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim de Barros's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Gervásio Severiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matias Bilintx was the one to do the kick off. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandro Leitão in the 57th minute of play. A collision led to Sporting de Gijón getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Matias Bilintx hit a great ball. VB-Team made a substitution. Qiu Sheng Bang replaced Sandro Leitão. In the 94th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rune Fanström to maneuver through the defense. The VB-Team players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Sporting de Gijón from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
