The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, Albardón F.C's Aureliano Buendia made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gilvan Sanches was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Green Squad FC's Gonçalo Maia got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 14th minute, Ulisses Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xandro Sacristán fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilvan Sanches having to interfere. Geronimo Eleazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeu Cosme in the 19th minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aureliano Buendia. Aureliano Buendia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilvan Sanches having to make a save. With an all-out effort, Albardón F.C's Gilvan Sanches threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Aureliano Buendia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aureliano Buendia might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilvan Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aureliano Buendia ran back to his position shaking his head. Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aureliano Buendia in the 29th minute of play. Aureliano Buendia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gilvan Sanches came out and tried to block the shot, but Aureliano Buendia slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Buendia in the 34th minute of play forced Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonçalo Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Eleazar having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jessie Pinkman in the 39th minute of play forced Albardón F.C's goalkeeper Geronimo Eleazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilvan Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aureliano Buendia, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After 47 minutes Green Squad FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gustavo Barros Schelotto who took care of the corner kick. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Green Squad FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gustavo Barros Schelotto was slow to take the kick. During this time Albardón F.C's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Albardón F.C's corner Gustavo Barros Schelotto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gilvan Sanches quite easily take care of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aureliano Buendia to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Aureliano Buendia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albardón F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aureliano Buendia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albardón F.C's Aureliano Buendia got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albardón F.C's Juan Galo was substituted for Erasmo Lluc. Gilvan Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xandro Sacristán in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Tadeu Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geronimo Eleazar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aureliano Buendia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aureliano Buendia struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Gilvan Sanches didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Albardón F.C. Aureliano Buendia scored 3-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilvan Sanches, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Damaso Rivas in the 77th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Albardón F.C's Gustavo Barros Schelotto. Aureliano Buendia might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilvan Sanches. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aureliano Buendia ran back to his position shaking his head. Jessie Pinkmans short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Geronimo Eleazar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aureliano Buendia in the 83rd minute of play forced Green Squad FC's goalkeeper Gilvan Sanches to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jessie Pinkman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Geronimo Eleazar made a huge save. Tadeu Cosme struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Geronimo Eleazar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Green Squad FC. If Gonçalo Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aureliano Buendia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Albardón F.C's attentive Gustavo Barros Schelotto managed to snatch the ball when Damaso Rivas made a throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game. In the 93rd minute Aureliano Buendia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilvan Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Green Squad FC's Tadeu Cosme dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Albardón F.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Green Squad FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
