Balus Treter's Karsten Zielinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lilcho Ilchov in the 4th minute of play. Nicanor Loiola was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gottlieb Hammer showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 17th minute, Gottlieb Hammer made a precise shot to the right of Nicanor Loiola. BASEL FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. BASEL FC's Nicanor Loiola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save BASEL FC from getting a goal against them. Gottlieb Hammer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gottlieb Hammer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nicanor Loiola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gottlieb Hammer might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicanor Loiola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gottlieb Hammer ran back to his position shaking his head. Jiang Yu Liang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nicanor Loiola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Ekaitz in the 46th minute of play forced Balus Treter's goalkeeper Karsten Zielinski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 played minutes Balus Treter got a freekick which was hit by Jiang Yu Liang. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gottlieb Hammer to strike the kick off in the second half. Nicanor Loiola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Balus Treter were the better team. Balus Treter's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
