An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 12th minute of play forced Barbie Doll United U23's goalkeeper Frederico de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 14 played minutes Barbie Doll United U23 got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Meireles. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Carlos Alberto de Sousa sped through Barbie Doll United U23's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Frederico de Salles. Barbie Doll United U23's Frederico de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Sabóia in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Barbie Doll United U23's Vicente Meireles got a free kick in the 19th minute. Frederico de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 21st minute of the match. If Cesinha Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Evaristo Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Futbol Club RRFV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Cruz couldn't finish the play. Frederico de Salles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Sabóia in the 39th minute of the match. If Carlos Alberto de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frederico de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandre Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper Otávio Coutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Alan Gaúcho fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Barbie Doll United U23's protests and gave Alan Gaúcho a yellow card for diving instead. Alan Gaúcho hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Futbol Club RRFV were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Futbol Club RRFV getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jacinto Neto hit a great ball. Zé Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Frederico de Salles made a huge save. A collision led to Barbie Doll United U23 getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Edgard Senna hit a great ball. Geovânio da Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Coutinho having to interfere. Frederico de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto de Sousa in the 68th minute of play. Frederico de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto de Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Alexandre Sabóia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
