Nilson de Souza hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute of the match Manfredo de Sena sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Serginho Taffarel skillfully saved the ball. In the 9th match minute, MINEIROS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Guerreiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 11th match minute, MINEIROS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Zanette to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Manfredo de Sena broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Luisão Simões was a little too slow when Naldo Baiano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 2-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 20 minutes into the game, when Juan Zanette put in a rough tackle. 21 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Manfredo de Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Serginho Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Maicon Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nico de Mendonça in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luisão Simões saved PEÇONHENTO FC MG from getting behind. Luisão Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maicon Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Maicon Quintal took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Luisão Simões to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to MINEIROS getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Benê Amorim hit a great ball. In the 45th minute, Elói Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute Nico de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elói Nogueira to make the kick off. Serginho Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfredo de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 54 minutes into the match, Nando Leão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luisão Simões. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nando Leão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. The supporters of MINEIROS booed when PEÇONHENTO FC MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maicon Quintal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luisão Simões. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 63rd play minutes Naldo Baiano shot 6-0, a short shot which went by Luisão Simões and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Luisão Simões, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Nico de Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MINEIROS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. MINEIROS's Ronaldinho Braga was substituted for Naldo Baiano. MINEIROS made a substitution. Vitinho Meirelles replaced Maicon Quintal. In the 74th match minute, MINEIROS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner Gaspar to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Manfredo de Sena got a free kick in the 77th minute. Luisão Simões showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Serginho Taffarel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manfredo de Sena's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Vitinho Meirelles notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Luisão Simões. Luisão Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 92nd minute, Nico de Mendonça ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luisão Simões was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. MINEIROS had played much better football throughout.
