The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Fred Lucas fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clube Atlético Luziense's protests and gave Fred Lucas a yellow card for diving instead. Fred Lucas kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. With a little luck, Clube Atlético Luziense's Dadá da Mata got control of the ball when Felipe de Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10thth minute of the game Erasmo Toscano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Davi Tande was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geraldo de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Davi Tande tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Davi Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo de Sena in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match Clube Atlético Luziense got a corner. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luís Fábio Bueno ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Luís Fábio Bueno almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Davi Tande did a great save. Dadá da Mata made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reynaldo Zanette in the 20th minute. If Erasmo Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronaldo Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ronaldo Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Ronaldo Antunes got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Erasmo Toscano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Toninho Garcia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute, Erasmo Toscano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clube Atlético Luziense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA booed when Clube Atlético Luziense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fábio Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's Davi Tande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo de Sena in the 46th minute of play.

The wind increased when Geraldo de Sena made the kick off in the second half. Geraldo de Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davi Tande having to make a save. 52 minutes into the match, CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's goalkeeper Davi Tande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo de Sena. 53 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Zanette was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atlético Luziense the free kick. A collision led to CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Reynaldo Zanette hit a great ball. In the 56th minute, Bernardinho Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 66th minute Toninho Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dadá da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute, João Adolfo Trevisan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clube Atlético Luziense's Kléberson Siqueira was substituted for Cristian Urbano. After 69 played minutes CDS BUCANEIROS PAULISTA got a freekick which was hit by João Adolfo Trevisan. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Luziense's Luís Fábio Bueno got a free kick in the 71st minute. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Clube Atlético Luziense! 83 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Zanette cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Dadá da Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Davi Tande managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Clube Atlético Luziense's Geraldo de Sena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Kléberson Siqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atlético Luziense's supporters rose to their feet, but Kléberson Siqueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Davi Tande breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dadá da Mata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reynaldo Zanette in the 97th minute of play. Clube Atlético Luziense's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
