Bruno Fonso might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacinto Cuadrado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruno Fonso ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacinto Cuadrado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Fonso in the 13th minute of the match. Jacinto Cuadrado made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Edgardo Cosca sent off a good shot on target. Boca Juniors's Jacinto Cuadrado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. Rene Higuita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hitzeder Manrique in the 19th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Club Ibiza's goal looked a bit too open when Hitzeder Manrique came free, but Rene Higuita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Ibiza's Rene Higuita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hitzeder Manrique in the 23rd minute of play. Rene Higuita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arkadiusz Banaszak, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Bruno Fonso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacinto Cuadrado came out of the goal and Bruno Fonso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgardo Cosca. Bruno Fonso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rene Higuita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rainerio Obis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Musko Macías in the 42nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Ibiza's Mambru Tarapiella. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beliran Poblaciones during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Olaf Varela kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hitzeder Manrique to make the kick off. Bruno Fonso scored 3-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacinto Cuadrado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jacinto Cuadrado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Fonso in the 64th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Fonso in the 65th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jacinto Cuadrado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77thth minute of the game Bruno Fonso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boca Juniors's Jacinto Cuadrado was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 80 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Fonso came free, but Jacinto Cuadrado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bruno Fonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Arkadiusz Banaszak fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca Juniors's protests and gave Arkadiusz Banaszak a yellow card for diving instead.
