The audience was convinced that Carlos Alberto Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Istvan Kowalski was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. After 4 minutes, Carlos Alberto Soares made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. EL MAGO ONEILL's Istvan Kowalski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in EL MAGO ONEILL's zone, Carlos Alberto Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Istvan Kowalski came out of the goal and Carlos Alberto Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Walmir Pombal sped through EL MAGO ONEILL's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Istvan Kowalski. 15 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Istvan Kowalski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ernesto de Amaral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Istvan Kowalski having to interfere. In the 28thth minute of the game Carlos Alberto Soares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EL MAGO ONEILL's Istvan Kowalski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 minutes EL MAGO ONEILL's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vicente Valladares who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Vicente Valladares got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Istvan Kowalski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Istvan Kowalski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alberto Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, EL MAGO ONEILL's Reko Nybacka threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jasper Goemyne, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Reko Nybacka made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Monteserin in the 34th minute. Istvan Kowalski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Istvan Kowalski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Pimenta in the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute of the match Catugi FC got a corner. EL MAGO ONEILL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vicente Valladares ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jasper Goemyne to make the kick off. With a little luck, EL MAGO ONEILL's Istvan Kowalski got control of the ball when Walmir Pombal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Istvan Kowalski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alberto Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute Catugi FC were awarded a corner. Vicente Valladares went to the cornerflag to take it. 59 minutes into the match, Carlos Alberto Soares dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Istvan Kowalski, 0-4. Walmir Pombal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Istvan Kowalski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Pimenta's late challenge caught a EL MAGO ONEILL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's Miguel Pimenta got a free kick in the 63rd minute. EL MAGO ONEILL's Istvan Kowalski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Soares in the 66th minute of play. Carlos Alberto Soares took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Istvan Kowalski. Istvan Kowalski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Reko Nybacka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jasper Goemyne in the 77th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walmir Pombal got free with Istvan Kowalski in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Istvan Kowalski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmir Pombal in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jasper Goemyne in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reko Nybacka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of EL MAGO ONEILL booed when Catugi FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Soares in the 91st minute of play forced EL MAGO ONEILL's goalkeeper Istvan Kowalski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The EL MAGO ONEILL supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Catugi FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Catugi FC.
