An unexpectedly hard shot by Dong Yang Bang in the 16th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arthur Bufi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arthur Bufi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pablo Lampard in the 17th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Sport Clube Recife's Gualter Penha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arthur Bufi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 27 minutes into the match, 余永川 notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Sport Clube Recife's Percy Fernandez. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gwidon Cwojdak to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Gwidon Cwojdak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Percy Fernandez. Sport Clube Recife's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gwidon Cwojdak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. If Doctor Strange had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gualter Penhas short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Arthur Bufi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The throw-in from Luiz Guilherme Cearense in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Sport Clube Recife's Remo Carvalho. If Gualter Penha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the game, Gwidon Cwojdak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Percy Fernandez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 86 minutes into the match, Sport Clube Recife's goal looked a bit too open when 余永川 came free, but Percy Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, 余永川 made a precise shot to the right of Percy Fernandez. Sport Clube Recife's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2.
