If Durvalino Paranaense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Durvalino Paranaense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy Fernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Marco Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualter Penha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 8 minutes Botafogo MZRJ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pablo Lampard who took care of the corner kick. Percy Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo de Amorim in the 10th minute of play. In the 12th match minute, Botafogo MZRJ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Paranaense to maneuver through the defense. Pablo Lampard struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Marco Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Clube Recife. In the 19th minute of the match Sport Clube Recife got a corner. Botafogo MZRJ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pablo Lampard ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Pablo Lampard got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marco Ramos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 23rdth minute of the game Doctor Strange who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Botafogo MZRJ's Marco Ramos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Sport Clube Recife fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Sport Clube Recife's Doctor Strange looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 25th minute, Doctor Strange got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edgard Reis charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgard Reis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 28 minutes into the game, Sport Clube Recife's Doctor Strange nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marco Ramos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 31 played minutes Botafogo MZRJ got a freekick which was hit by Enio Abreu. Marco Ramos acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 32nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Rain Bow. After a rather tough play, Botafogo MZRJ's Zé Roberto Paranaense got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Marco Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doctor Strange, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Doctor Strange sped through Botafogo MZRJ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marco Ramos. Doctor Strange sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 40 in the game by Gualter Penha from a close distance when the talented Marco Ramos managed to make a qualified save. Botafogo MZRJ's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Doctor Strange kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marco Ramos. That made the score 4-0 in the 41 minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.
Marco Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doctor Strange in the 54th minute of play. Marco Ramos came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Clube Recife's Doctor Strange. But to his dismay, Doctor Strange quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Pablo Lampard struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Marco Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Clube Recife. Botafogo MZRJ's Marco Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doctor Strange in the 64th minute of play. Marco Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doctor Strange, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Ramos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pablo Lampard went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. In the 74th minute, Enio Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute, Doctor Strange left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Clube Recife fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Marco Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doctor Strange, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Botafogo MZRJ's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Lampard came free, but Marco Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Gualter Penha made a precise shot to the right of Marco Ramos. Botafogo MZRJ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Gualter Penha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marco Ramos having to make a save. When Paulo de Amorim fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Botafogo MZRJ's protests and gave Paulo de Amorim a yellow card for diving instead. In the 89th minute, Paulo de Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Doctor Strange recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Botafogo MZRJ getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Durvalino Paranaense hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Botafogo MZRJ's zone, Pablo Lampard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Ramos came out of the goal and Pablo Lampard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 93rd minute, Enio Abreu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 95 played minutes, Sport Clube Recife's Dong Yang Bang shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Ramos came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sport Clube Recife reached it. 96 minutes into the match, Gualter Penha notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Botafogo MZRJ's Marco Ramos. Marco Ramos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee ended the match the Sport Clube Recife players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
