Kasper Schmeichel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nurlan Salmanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The audience was convinced that Mai Quan Peng's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zakir Novruzov was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Betinho Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 43rd minute of the match, Cahangir Aliyev tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kasper Schmeichel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mai Quan Peng stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zakir Novruzov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mai Quan Peng's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Fillip Sivananda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. In the 81st minute Dan Vøge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zakir Novruzov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zakir Novruzov came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Seed Town West's Dan Vøge. But to his dismay, Dan Vøge quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. In the 83rd minute, Cahangir Aliyev left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Azerbaijan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Vøge in the 96th minute of play forced U21 Azerbaijan's goalkeeper Zakir Novruzov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Seed Town West eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
