The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee showed Severiano Taurino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of El Canalla de Chicago booed when Deportivo Balvanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severiano Taurino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cayetano Behe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Tuttle's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Balvanera's Candido Jakes got a free kick in the 14th minute. Fabricio Errapel's late challenge caught a El Canalla de Chicago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tanner Booker in the 17th minute of play forced Deportivo Balvanera's goalkeeper Cayetano Behe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Martin Tuttle put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cayetano Behe. Thanks to some nice moves Severiano Taurino could shoot a difficult shot in the 23rd minute, which Bart Villanueva however easily saved by the left post. A nice corner shot did that Tanner Booker got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cayetano Behe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tanner Waller hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Cayetano Behe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rudolf Pendleton's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Cayetano Behe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Tuttle in the 38th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in El Canalla de Chicago's zone, Cristobal Hulberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bart Villanueva came out of the goal and Cristobal Hulberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tanner Booker during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Martin Tuttle put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Cayetano Behe. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Giuseppe Gillis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deportivo Balvanera's Cayetano Behe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Balvanera from getting a goal against them. Hector Spivey hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Deportivo Balvanera's Marciano Koldobika got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, El Canalla de Chicago's Tanner Booker got a free kick in the 82nd minute. El Canalla de Chicago's Bart Villanueva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marciano Koldobika in the 86th minute of play. The supporters of Deportivo Balvanera booed when El Canalla de Chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Spivey didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle sounded El Canalla de Chicago left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Deportivo Balvanera.
