Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, CF Mendia's Igor Travassos got control of the ball when Joe Herring tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valencia C.F. were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after CF Mendia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Guillermo Farré took the corner. The corner led Valencia C.F.'s Guillermo Farré to fire away a dangerous shot which Igor Travassos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Joe Herring came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Valencia C.F. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joe Herring couldn't finish the play. Igor Travassos made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Yuan Wei Han sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute, Joe Herring got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the CF Mendia defense, Joe Herring kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Igor Travassos. The CF Mendia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Travassos should have stopped the shot. Emmanuel Jubera made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Valencia C.F.'s Yuan Wei Han. In the 28th minute, Lano Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joe Herring received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Igor Travassos came out and tried to block the shot, but Joe Herring slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Herring in the 37th minute of play forced CF Mendia's goalkeeper Igor Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 played minutes CF Mendia got a freekick which was hit by Lano Torres. Igor Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Herring in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute Joe Herring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Travassos came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring. But to his dismay, Joe Herring quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. When Goyo Reyes fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CF Mendia's protests and gave Goyo Reyes a yellow card for diving instead. After 47 played minutes CF Mendia got a freekick which was hit by Goyo Reyes. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manolito Caminero stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valencia C.F.'s Ricardo Arias managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Emmanuel Jubera in the 52 minute of the game. After 53 minutes of play, Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Igor Travassos was left in no man's land by his defense there! 58 minutes into the match, Joe Herring notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of CF Mendia's Igor Travassos. Igor Travassos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 61 minutes of play, Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Igor Travassos was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 66th minute Joe Herring shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joe Herring's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Travassos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Igor Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Herring in the 75th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Joe Herring cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Igor Travassos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, CF Mendia's Emmanuel Jubera got a free kick in the 82nd minute. A collision led to CF Mendia getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Emmanuel Jubera hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, CF Mendia's goal looked a bit too open when Joe Herring came free, but Igor Travassos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Joe Herring's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Igor Travassos was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. The Valencia C.F. fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Valencia C.F.'s Joe Herring looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Valencia C.F. made a substitution. Florentin Gougeon replaced Joe Herring. CF Mendia's Igor Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florentin Gougeon in the 93rd minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Valencia C.F. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
