FC Tarragona 2006's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Morientes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremias Moreno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Morientes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Oliver Bierhoff ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Domingo Colsa was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Oliver Bierhoff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Domingo Colsa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Bierhoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in FC Tarragona 2006's zone, Oliver Bierhoff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Domingo Colsa came out of the goal and Oliver Bierhoff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Tarragona 2006's Ansu Fatić was substituted for Fernando Morientes. ADM Taquaras made a substitution. Nestor Soeiro replaced Cido Cabral. Domingo Colsa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oliver Bierhoff in the 67th minute of play. Domingo Colsa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oliver Bierhoff's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Oliver Bierhoff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. ADM Taquaras's Juan Torrent was substituted for Oliver Bierhoff. Aybar Topay hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 84 minutes of play, ADM Taquaras's Áron Bódog made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Domingo Colsa was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Nestor Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan Torrent sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Domingo Colsa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Áron Bódog, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Tarragona 2006's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
