In the 3rd minute, Gaspar Cordarryl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 7th minute Gaspar Cordarryl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SAN LORENZO FC booed when C. A. Potrero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejo Nerio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th match minute, SAN LORENZO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evelio Gorbea to maneuver through the defense. If Gaspar Cordarryl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 25 minutes, Lisandro Mon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SAN LORENZO FC and the C. A. Potrero players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute Fabricio Tipi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

SAN LORENZO FC's Gavino Fortun was substituted for Mario Galtero. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabricio Tipi to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabricio Tipi in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pablo Acevedo saved C. A. Potrero from getting behind. Potrero's goal looked a bit too open when Fabricio Tipi came free, but Pablo Acevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SAN LORENZO FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabricio Tipi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabricio Tipi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Pablo Acevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
