Gerardo Romelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octavian Cristian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 minutes of play, Armada's Manole Nișu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerardo Romelio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Manole Nișu hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. SAN LORENZO FC's Gerardo Romelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavian Cristian in the 42nd minute of play. After 44 played minutes Armada got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Chifu. Gerardo Romelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorin Mereuță in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Placido Laurgain made the kick off in the second half. Dorin Mereuță might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gerardo Romelio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorin Mereuță ran back to his position shaking his head. SAN LORENZO FC's Gerardo Romelio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save SAN LORENZO FC from getting a goal against them. Nicolae Hrandabur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Placido Laurgain in the 57th minute of the match. The Armada fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Armada's Octavian Cristian looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 65 played minutes SAN LORENZO FC got a freekick which was hit by Mario Galtero. Lisandro Mon hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. The supporters of SAN LORENZO FC booed when Armada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nistor Chifu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armada played a much better game than SAN LORENZO FC and deserved their victory. The SAN LORENZO FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
