In the 15thth minute of the game Marco Dias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Las Palmas's Evelio Naike was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Dias in the 24th minute of play forced Las Palmas's goalkeeper Evelio Naike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evelio Naike was a little too slow when Glauco Abraão got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 3-0. Joélson das Neves charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joélson das Neves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Las Palmas booed when ≮王者归来≯ a was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson das Neves didn't get a good kick on the ball. ≮王者归来≯ a's Carlinhos Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horacio Sein in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute Las Palmas were awarded a corner. Fulgencio Tiadoro went to the cornerflag to take it. Maximiliano Bazil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos Vieira having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Dias got free with Evelio Naike in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Glauco Abraão to strike the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Paul Weller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ≮王者归来≯ a and the Las Palmas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Las Palmas made a substitution. Placido Lorien replaced Maximiliano Bazil. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Las Palmas's goalkeeper Evelio Naike, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 97 minutes into the match, Arnaldo Linhares notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Las Palmas's Evelio Naike. Evelio Naike was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. ≮王者归来≯ a's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
