When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo de Alcântara made a kick off. Edmílson Simão yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-3. Bayan Gugovski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo de Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fluminense DF's Caio Travassos was substituted for Osvaldo Furlan. Albino Dimas made in the 71st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Raimundo Gonsalvo however managed to control. When the match clock showed 78 minutes, the score became 4-4 when Aquiles Urtsin sped through Fluminense DF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edmílson Simão. Edmílson Simão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ismael Frances in the 81st minute. The Merengue FC fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Merengue FC's Ediberto Sampaio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd rose to their feet as Ediberto Sampaio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edmílson Simão. That made the score 4-6 in the 92 minute of play.
