Carlo Borgatello got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 1-0 in the right cross in the 3rd match minute before Fausto De Bonis had time to react. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfonso Giovannelli in the 6th minute of play forced FC Aquile Azzurre's goalkeeper Sabin Pânzaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute of the match LATIUM got a corner. FC Aquile Azzurre's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Hector Ventura ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, LATIUM's Armin Palmisano got a free kick in the 8th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Carlo Borgatello dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fausto De Bonis, 2-0. If Amerigo Buffone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, FC Aquile Azzurre's Carlo Borgatello dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Fausto De Bonis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlo Borgatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the game, Bel Cross was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Aquile Azzurre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LATIUM the free kick. After 45 played minutes, LATIUM's Hector Ventura shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sabin Pânzaru came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in LATIUM reached it. When Carlo Borgatello came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the FC Aquile Azzurre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlo Borgatello couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, LATIUM's Fausto De Bonis got control of the ball when Carlo Borgatello tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The wind increased when Carlo Borgatello made the kick off in the second half. LATIUM's Fausto De Bonis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlo Borgatello in the 52nd minute of play. Sabin Pânzaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amerigo Buffone in the 56th minute of the match. Äliqulu Vermäliyev took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fausto De Bonis. Fausto De Bonis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Donovan Ambrose hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Fausto De Bonis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlo Borgatello in the 65th minute of play. FC Aquile Azzurre's Filippo Massa was substituted for Carlo Borgatello. FC Aquile Azzurre's Amanda Almqvist managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cristoforo Caiola in the 71 minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Filippo Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Aquile Azzurre's supporters rose to their feet, but Filippo Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto De Bonis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 85 minutes into the match, LATIUM's goal looked a bit too open when Äliqulu Vermäliyev came free, but Fausto De Bonis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Filippo Massa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Fausto De Bonis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 95th minute Äliqulu Vermäliyev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto De Bonis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. LATIUM's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
