The Ugonotti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adriano De Carolis should have stopped the shot. Ugonotti's Balázs Sass managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Carlo Corna in the 39 minute of the game. In the 40th minute, Emanuele Cicchinelli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. San Michele AFC's Motta Rello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Boss in the 46th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carolo Camaño to strike the kick off in the second half. After 65 minutes, Dennis Chiappini mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Michele AFC and the Ugonotti players grew even worse after the yellow card.
