Marcelo Barovero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gordon Harkin in the 80th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the game, Luis Cristaldo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bolivia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ireland the free kick. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Luis Cristaldo hit a great ball. In the 83rd minute Lúcio da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Barovero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Angulo kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Ter Stegen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ponciano Abarca, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
