Alcorcón's Belo Alvarez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Óscar Cordoba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 6th match minute, A.D. Alcorcón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolinar Guijarro to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Bilintx got free with Maurino Serena in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Óscar Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Belo Alvarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16thth minute of the game Belo Alvarez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute Erlantz Bermejo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the game, A.D. Alcorcón's Erlantz Bermejo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Óscar Cordoba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to A.D. Óscar Cordoba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A.D. Alcorcón. Erlantz Bermejo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A.D. Alcorcón's Maurino Serena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save A.D. Alcorcón from getting a goal against them. 48 minutes into the game, Esteban Vadillos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Óscar Cordoba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belo Alvarez to strike the kick off in the second half. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erlantz Bermejo in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, A.D. Alcorcón's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Bilintx came free, but Maurino Serena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, A.D. Alcorcón's Esteban Vadillos got a free kick in the 55th minute. Belo Alvarez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. Óscar Cordoba was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Erlantz Bermejo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Erlantz Bermejo really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Sporting de Gijón's Atilano Feo was substituted for Carlo Crema. A.D. Alcorcón made a substitution. Leroy Antunez replaced Belo Alvarez. Eustacio Loiola made in the 85th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Diego Maradona immediately put the ball in play. Alcorcón's goalie prevented a goal. The Sporting de Gijón supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching A.D. Alcorcón's performance.
