Howard Woodhall blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dale Kinsey having to make a save. 21 minutes into the match, Real Chelsea's Howard Woodhall sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dale Kinsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, T H F C's Clive Cheesman got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Real Chelsea's Liam Edmunds played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Crossley in the 30th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lee Walton got free with Liam Edmunds in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 34 minutes Real Chelsea's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dominik Plumber who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on T H F C's corner Dominik Plumber fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Liam Edmunds quite easily take care of the ball. In the 47th minute Roger Crossley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liam Edmunds saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roger Crossley was the one to do the kick off. Vern Pickard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Philip Davenport charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Philip Davenport the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Philip Davenport hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gus Weir in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dale Kinsey saved T H F C from getting behind. Real Chelsea's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Howard Woodhall in the 59th minute. The corner ended in Howard Woodhall almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but T H F C's Dale Kinsey did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Walton in the 61st minute of play forced Real Chelsea's goalkeeper Liam Edmunds to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
