The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Uno Åkesson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Joseph Söderberg made a huge save. 5 minutes into the match, Ingvar Bark notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mellbystrand IK's Joseph Söderberg. Joseph Söderberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Per Bröms showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sten Ekblom in the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to Mellbystrand IK getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Hubert Henriksson hit a great ball. Per Bröms took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl Månsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stig Rönn's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Joseph Söderberg firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 19th minute, Ekedalen SK's Ingvar Bark ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joseph Söderberg. Joseph Söderberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 22 minutes into the match, Mellbystrand IK's goal looked a bit too open when Ingvar Bark came free, but Joseph Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mellbystrand IK's Bähräm Abduläzimov got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Robert Kalfhage got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Ingvar Bark took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Joseph Söderberg to make any attempt to save it. Joseph Söderberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Bark in the 40th minute of play. Mellbystrand IK's Joseph Söderberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Bark in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Ingvar Bark ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joseph Söderberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl Månsson was the one to do the kick off.
