Francisco Igrejas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 10thth minute tested the skills of Tomás Igrejas when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cassiano Durães kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After 23 minutes Ɍυƒυs™'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Teodoro Cavaco who took care of the corner kick. Teodoro Cavaco made a great header on FCPorto's corner, it was just that Ɍυƒυs™'s Francisco Ribas managed to reach the ball for a save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Saúl Soveral made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Lobo during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th minute, Alfredo Lobo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saúl Soveral in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Igrejas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, FCPorto's Heitor Garcia got a free kick in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renato Castro in the 89th minute of play forced FCPorto's goalkeeper Tomás Igrejas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ɍυƒυs™ walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
