In the 7th match minute, Penang Island was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zulfikar Wijaya to maneuver through the defense. Persepolis F.C.'s Dennis Rhoades played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pandapotan Sinuhaji in the 10th minute of play. With a little luck, Penang Island's Bulsky Pane got control of the ball when Art Rhoades tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bulsky Pane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Beltran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Penang Island defense, Joel Beltran kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bulsky Pane. The Penang Island fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bulsky Pane should have stopped the shot. Penang Island's Bulsky Pane proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Penang Island from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Penang Island getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Hendrawan Ie hit a great ball. Art Rhoades recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Art Rhoades reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bulsky Pane. The goal made the score 2-0. Bulsky Pane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merlin Amireau in the 41st minute of play. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Merlin Amireau took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Bulsky Pane to make any attempt to save it. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Bulsky Pane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merlin Amireau in the 53rd minute of play. When Odis Godfrey fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Persepolis F.C.'s protests and gave Odis Godfrey a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Penang Island booed when Persepolis F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odis Godfrey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dennis Rhoades took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pandapotan Sinuhaji, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Persepolis F.C.'s goalkeeper Dennis Rhoades, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Beltran in the 63rd minute of play forced Penang Island's goalkeeper Bulsky Pane to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th minute, Merlin Amireau made a precise shot to the right of Bulsky Pane. Penang Island's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Bulsky Pane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Art Rhoades, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 85th match minute, Persepolis F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Merlin Amireau to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zulfikri Reza during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 87 played minutes Penang Island got a freekick which was hit by Zulfikri Reza. 88 minutes into the match, Persepolis F.C.'s Odis Godfrey sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bulsky Pane narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Donny Dermawan hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When the referee ended the match the Persepolis F.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
