That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. With 9 minutes on the clock, Placido Garin commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 10th match minute, Academia 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Placido Garin to maneuver through the defense. Academia 1903's Fidel Tadzio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Bonifaco in the 19th minute of play. After 22 played minutes Rafaela FC got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Raphael. Academia 1903's Fidel Tadzio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Academia 1903 from getting a goal against them. Fidel Tadzio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Vergaray in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Rafaela FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Horacio Nuno hit a great ball. Alfonso Patrido's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but German Ourente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Rafaela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Cordario came free, but German Ourente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Freddy Vergaray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Rafaela FC booed when Academia 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Estevez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Balesio might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fidel Tadzio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Balesio ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Academia 1903 getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Juan Estevez hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Cordario stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Diego Cordario came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Academia 1903 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diego Cordario couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute, Gogo Bibiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rafaela FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 59th match minute, Academia 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Estevez to maneuver through the defense. German Ourente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Cordario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rafaela FC's Daniel Balesio got a free kick in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romeo Raphael in the 79th minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Fidel Tadzio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anibal Bonifaco in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fidel Tadzio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Juan Estevez hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. When Alfonso Patrido fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia 1903's protests and gave Alfonso Patrido a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Academia 1903 getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Alfonso Patrido hit a great ball. Freddy Vergaray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Tadzio having to interfere. Diego Cordario kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Rafaela FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
