But to his dismay, Higinio Cordarrel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. A collision led to Atlético Matorrales getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Baldomero Baladi hit a great ball. Aristides Mattin kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Igor Gipuzkoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Cordarrel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Amador Raymond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Gipuzkoa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeledon Bermund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Siro Errapel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Higinio Cordarrel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RACINGUS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Igor Gipuzkoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Higinio Cordarrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. RACINGUS were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Atlético Matorrales's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alejo Bento took the corner. 27 minutes into the match, Atlético Matorrales's goal looked a bit too open when Amador Raymond came free, but Igor Gipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30thth minute of the game Higinio Cordarrel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Matorrales's Igor Gipuzkoa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Atlético Matorrales's goal looked a bit too open when Amador Raymond came free, but Igor Gipuzkoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atlético Matorrales's Zeledon Bermund got a free kick in the 40th minute. Atlético Matorrales's Igor Gipuzkoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Cordarrel in the 41st minute of play. After some careless play in the Atlético Matorrales defense, Higinio Cordarrel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Igor Gipuzkoa. The Atlético Matorrales fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Igor Gipuzkoa should have stopped the shot. 46 minutes into the game, Higinio Cordarrel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Igor Gipuzkoa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amador Raymond made a kick off. With a little luck, Atlético Matorrales's Igor Gipuzkoa got control of the ball when Amador Raymond tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of RACINGUS booed when Atlético Matorrales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristides Mattin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atlético Matorrales's goalkeeper Igor Gipuzkoa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 73 minutes into the game, Atlético Matorrales's Zeledon Bermund nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Siro Errapel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-8. Baldomiro Herrera kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Siro Errapel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zeledon Bermund's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Zeledon Bermund succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-8. Aristides Mattin charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aristides Mattin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aristides Mattin hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Guaberto Domingues kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Igor Gipuzkoa. That made the score 3-9 in the 86 minute of play. 3-10 became the score in the 91st minute when Amador Raymond elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 95th minute, Alejo Bento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 96th match minute, Atlético Matorrales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Jorrin to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over RACINGUS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Atlético Matorrales throughout the match.
