Silvestre Toli lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Flavio Checa to make the kick off. In the 64th minute, Potrerillo Azuleño's Baltasar Sedeni dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Baltasar Sedeni blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Victoriano Ferran having to make a save. Potrerillo Azuleño's Lázaro Gonza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Peio in the 71st minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Lyons's Mario Peio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lázaro Gonza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Baltasar Sedeni kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match.
