The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of LinuX F.C. booed when ORION F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luchito Gómez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Max Barrera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Garro, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Franklin Agurto dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eric Duarte, 2-0. In the 15th minute Franklin Agurto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute ORION F.C. were awarded a corner. Luis Bermudez went to the cornerflag to take it. 18 minutes into the game, Jorge Padilla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Max Barrera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 21 played minutes LinuX F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Alpizar. In the 25th minute, Franklin Agurto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eric Duarte was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. When Luchito Gómez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 28 minutes had been played. In the 29th match minute, ORION F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luchito Gómez to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, ORION F.C.'s Franklin Agurto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eric Duarte. Eric Duarte yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind LinuX F.C.'s goalkeeper Eric Duarte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. LinuX F.C.'s Eric Duarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Agurto in the 42nd minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Padilla to make the kick off. Eric Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Agurto in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th minute Luis Bermudez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Ramirez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Eric Duarte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Franklin Agurto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Luis Bermudez fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ORION F.C.'s protests and gave Luis Bermudez a yellow card for diving instead. After 67 played minutes ORION F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luis Bermudez. After 73 minutes of play, ORION F.C.'s Franklin Agurto made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eric Duarte was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luis Bermudez walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After 82 minutes of play, LinuX F.C.'s Jorge Padilla made it 7-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Max Barrera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 86th minute Jorge Padilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Barrera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the game, Nery Echeverria was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LinuX F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ORION F.C. the free kick. After 90 played minutes LinuX F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Nery Echeverria. Manuel Ramirez hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
