After having played for 3 minutes, Cordero Casuso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monitor Huáscar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cordero Casuso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ismael Peña charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ismael Peña the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th minute, Ismael Peña hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Águila's Camilo Galeas got a free kick in the 25th minute. Ferman Basabe made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Nelson Hernández sent off a good shot on target. Emesto Devesa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 35 minutes into the game, Esteban Pérez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportivo Águila's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monitor Huáscar the free kick. Esteban Pérez kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the match Pagomari Portilla shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Peña showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 38th minute, Cordero Casuso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cordero Casuso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Águila's Camilo Galeas got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Monitor Huáscar's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
