Umberto Peres started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Arrozal FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Nilton Paraibano hit a great ball. Mathias Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Umberto Peres in the 7th minute of play. Jardel Meira's late challenge caught a Goiás Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jardel Meira helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Umberto Peres in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mathias Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Arrozal FC's zone, Oswaldo Figueiredo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Guimarães came out of the goal and Oswaldo Figueiredo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mathias Guimarães stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Peres's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. When the match clock showed 23 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Umberto Peres sped through Arrozal FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mathias Guimarães. In the 29th minute Marcus Diniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute, Oswaldo Figueiredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Natanael Paraense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doriva Loureiro in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Arrozal FC's Sidnei Vargas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Natanael Paraense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 36thth minute of the game Umberto Peres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arrozal FC's Mathias Guimarães was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcus Diniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Mathias Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Guimarães came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiás Esporte Clube's Marcus Diniz. But to his dismay, Marcus Diniz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After the first half Goiás Esporte Clube were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sidnei Vargas to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Umberto Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathias Guimarães was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Arrozal FC's Jardel Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Umberto Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Umberto Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathias Guimarães was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Natanael Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doriva Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oswaldo Figueiredo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Natanael Paraense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Meira, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Sidnei Vargas charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sidnei Vargas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Agostinho Melo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After 83 played minutes, Goiás Esporte Clube's Valdir Neves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Goiás Esporte Clube reached it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oswaldo Figueiredo during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Oswaldo Figueiredo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jardel Meira kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 88th minute of the match Valdir Neves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mathias Guimarães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Arrozal FC's goalkeeper Mathias Guimarães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Umberto Peres. With a little luck, Arrozal FC's Mathias Guimarães got control of the ball when Umberto Peres tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Arrozal FC's Léo da Rocha got a free kick in the 95th minute. Valdir Neves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mathias Guimarães. Arrozal FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Léo da Rocha during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Arrozal FC getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Agostinho Melo hit a great ball. Goiás Esporte Clube's Valdir Neves couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 99th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Arrozal FC. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Goiás Esporte Clube had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
